Northern Arabian Gulf (Sept. 7, 2004) - Sgt. Daniel Diaz, a Miami native and diesel mechanic assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Deep Reconnaissance Platoon (DRP), fires a M4A1 carbine assault rifle during night training aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2).
